Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Endocannabinoid system?

The Endogenous Cannabinoid System (ECS, for short) was discovered in the early 1990s and is comprised of:

1) Endocannabinoids, endo meaning “within or internal,” are cannabinoids we all naturally have within our own bodies.

2) Specific receptors called CB1 and CB2 that are regulated by your body’s endocannabinoids.

3) Enzymes that work to break these endocannabinoids down.

Your ECS works to promote health and overall wellness. It does this by balancing physiological systems in our bodies that deal with pain and inflammation, memory, anxiety, sleep, and more. These systems may become deficient as a result of physically and mentally straining careers, poor diets, and excess stress, just to name a few. This is where these hemp-derived nutrients become vital to the optimal function of the Endocannabinoid system, because it can promote homeostasis in the human body and get you back in the fight.

What are Phytocannabinoids?

Phytocannabinoids, phyto meaning “plant”, are cannabinoids that are extracted from industrial hemp. Scientists, so far, have recognized over 100 phytocannabinoids within these hemp plants, and they interact with the Endocannabinoid system as well as many other receptors throughout the brain and body.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is one of many phytocannabinoids found naturally in industrial hemp. CBD, above all, is not only the most abundant in the hemp plant but is also well researched and argued to be the most important phytocannabinoid we know of so far. Research has shown that CBD alone has an array of benefits with ZERO chance of intoxication.

How do cannabinoids work?

The non-intoxicating cannabinoid, CBD, has a positive correlation to the performance of the Endocannabinoid system (ECS) as well as secondary cannabinoids like CBG and terpenes. They act as agents to promote proper function of the Endocannabinoid system by influencing the body to naturally use more of its own endocannabinoids and to use them more efficiently. This aids in their roles for promoting calmness, focus, and relief from daily pain and anxiety, along with healthy sleep cycles. Additionally, CBD also directly affects other important receptors such as dopamine, serotonin, adenosine, vanilloid, and glutamate that also aid in balancing physiological systems.

What is the difference between marijuana and industrial hemp?

Marijuana is a slang term for the intoxicating varieties of cannabis. Hemp is a term created to differentiate the industrial and agricultural varieties from the intoxicating varieties. Hemp is extremely low in THC and high in CBD, which allows a medicinal but not intoxicating experience. The legal limit when growing industrial hemp with a license is required to be 0.3% THC or less, which means at those levels you cannot get high. We took it a step further and extracted all strains of THC out of our products, making us verified 100% THC-FREE.

Is our CBD oil legal?

YES. As defined under the 2018 Farm Bill, farmers with a license given to them by their state’s Department of Agriculture are allowed to grow industrial hemp plants as long as they don’t exceed the legal limit of 0.3% THC. The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) and made it an agricultural commodity. It also got rid of the restrictions on the sale and possession of hemp-derived CBD which allowed for them to be transported across state lines as long as the products follow the rules of the 2018 Farm Bill, which all CBD OPS products do. Although hemp-derived CBD is legal at the federal level, be sure to check your state’s guidelines and/or the policy of the department you work for.

**Note** Some departments/agencies have put uneducated policies in place that restrict their employees from consuming any and all CBD products. If this applies to you, our team would love to hear about it so we may assist in providing your department/agency with education and even training on the matter from one of our P.O.S.T. certified instructors.

Where is your hemp sourced from?

Our strains are then grown on Oklahoma soil under the strictest guidelines making them organic and free from all the bad sh*t, such as pesticides, fungicides, heavy metals, and mildew/mold. More importantly, our hemp follows the rules of the 2018 Farm Bill.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are compounds found naturally in plants that produces the plant’s particular smell and taste while also being thought to have medicinal benefits.
